The Newly Wed Game

This weekend Jamie and I went to our Ward's "couples only" activity for Valentine's Day. They served us dinner with chicken alfredo and a caesar salad with a chocolate brownie dessert. It was so good! We had a good time sitting with our friends and meeting new friends as well. Later in the night, we were called up front with a few other couples to play the newly wed game. We were selected as the "newly wed couple with no kids." The other couples had been married for 7, 25, and 31 years. Well, surprisingly enough, we won! It was so much fun and I couldn't believe how much we actually knew about each other. People in the audience were yelling stuff like "get some kids, you two talk too much!" It was pretty funny.

So here are the questions we were asked, and our answers.

Husbands' Questions:

Q: Where was your first kiss?

A: Both of us said in front of my apartment

Q: Most romantic thing you've done for your wife?

A: Jamie said "engagement", and I said a "dance in our living room." (I thought it was besides engagment).

Q: What type of flower would you describe your wife as in the morning? Sunflower, Bird of Paradise, or Snap Dragon?

A: I said "sunflower", and he said "bird of paradise, because her hair is out of control."

Q: How many brides maids did you have at your wedding?

A: We both said zero, Amy was my maid of honor, so I technically didn't have the whole brides maid drama.

Q: Number one place your wife would want to go on vacation?

A: We both said "Mexico."

Q: Worst meal your wife has cooked?

A: We both said "Salty, Sloppy Joes".

Q: What was the first gift your wife gave you?

A: I said "Picture frame in an Easter Basket" and he said "Picture frame and clothes." We only got half credit for it! Lame...

Wives Questions:

Q: What is your husband's shoe size?

A: We both said "9"

Q: Who, besides yourself, is your husband's best friend?

A: We both said "brothers."

Q: Where did your husband take you on your first date?

A: We both said "Island Park and Patrick's football game."

Q: What super hero would your husband want to be and why?

A: We both said "Superman, because he could fly."

Q: Worst habit your wife has that drives you crazy?

A: We both said "touching her chin."

Q: How does your husband like his eggs?

A: We both said "overeasy, and not too runny, or scrambled."

We ended up winning plastic champagne glasses and Godiva assorted chocolates. It was pretty fun though.
