Home is where the heart is...

Well, we are now officially Nevadan's as of this weekend. Yes...it has taken us only an entire YEAR for it to happen, only because we've been freaked out from what everyone has told us. Our friends payed 400 bucks per car to register...and they aren't the only ones we've heard that have pitched out that much money to switch over. Nevada is one of the top most expensive places to register and to buy car insurance. So, we held on to our Idaho license plates as long as we could...probably not the best decision since we were suppose to do it within 30 days of living here, OH WELL. We were totally broke when we got here, so we figured there was absolutely no way we could pay 800 bucks to register our cars. Well, we finally took the plunge, and it was only 266 bucks to register both cars! We were so amazed! Though it was much more than Idaho ever was (only 100 bucks for both), we were still very blessed it didn't cost us an arm and a leg! So, yes...now we are officially residents! It was so sad giving up our Idaho licenses and license plates though...our hearts will always be in Idaho. "Home is where the heart is" they say :)

Now, for the rest of the weekend...

Jamie and I had a wonderful weekend together. On Friday night we explored our new neighborhood a little more and what is around "walking distance" from our place. Some of things we have around us that we are able to WALK to is: Red Rock Casino, Pei Wei Asian Diner, Albertson's, Blockbuster, See's candy, Olive Garden, Costco, Carvel icecream, and a bunch of eating places! Not to forget, our good friend's house, Steve and Emily Jonas. We live just right across from the canyon walking trail from them and are even in the same ward! We are so excited! It is so much fun in Summerlin. There is a commercial on T.V. about the area, it says "This is Summerlin, This is Home." And it totally is! We love living in Summerlin!
We went and watched Batman on Saturday night. We felt so young because we went at 10:30 p.m at the IMAX! It was a blast. This is on top of the Red Rock Casino where the theatre we go to is in.
I thought this was cool. We got the Civic detailed on Saturday and I had to take a picture. Where every palm tree is there's a pump for vacuuming and cleaning. It was so cool looking...totally a tropical little gas station.
Jamie surprised me by taking me to Baskin' Robbins to get me my favorite Bubble Gum icecream. Cheezy as heck of a picture...but it was soooooooo good!!! Oh, and on Sunday night, we played Phase 10 with our friends, Steve and Emily...I haven't laughed that hard for a long time! It was a blast! We had to meet up again on Monday night to play Settlers of Catan because we had such a great time! We had a great weekend!
