The ants go marching one by one...

First I want to say, I love our little place. It's so cozy and we have so much room. We love our community and everything else about our place. But, it's starting to get a little colder now, which means all the outside critters want a place to go too and it's getting a little annoying and old! We have an ant problem in our condo. It all started the day we moved in. We got all our food situated nice and pretty in our pantry, only to find out right before we were going to bed, that about a 1,000 ants (literally) had infested our pantry. They were in cereal boxes, ziplock bags, EVERYTHING! So gross! So, we sprayed for them, sealed up the cracks and whalla, no ants. Well, in about October, (when we had our parents come down...nice timing) the ants came back! NOOOO!!!! Squishing ant after ant just wasn't helping much. My dad told us we should get Home Defense (a pest control) and spray all over the house walls, doors, and cracks. So we did. Infact, my handy-man went the extra mile and bought culking and sealed up every little crack and cranny we could see in the house. Needless to say, it worked! There aren't so many of them now, and i'm finding TONS of dead ones just laying around. Bad new is, now I'm finding ants in my utensil drawer? Where in the heck are these little nasty pests coming from? They are really ticking me off! It's like you don't see them for a few days because they are marching to the next area just to tick you off even more! Well, it's working. I'm sitting there making dinner---stir, squish, scrub -- all at the same time.
Anyways, I was cutting Jamie's hair on Saturday afternoon and looked down on the sidewalk only to my surprise, I saw a whole stampede of hundreds marching right into our foundation. I think we've found the culprit! Jamie immediately went and sprayed the crap out them...I hope their dead now and never coming back!

dude, in our old apartment we were housing i swear a million ants. it was so gross. we had some friends over to play cranium, opened the box and the whole thing was full of ants and larva. not to mention the pantry, bedroom, in the iron, you name it. we were so freakin happy to move to our house. i left the apartment everyday with an itchy feeling, and actually found ants in my clothes a couple times.

I don't know if you remember, but we had a HUGE ant problem in our apartment. We found them everywhere and had to throw tons of food out - they were in our iron and our clothes. We even went to play Cranium with friends when we first moved out here, and they had infested and layed eggs n our Cranium box. It was super embarassing!!! Good luck!

Does anyone know the purpose of ants? Other than to feed spiders and other useless insects... sorry you had an ant invasion...been there! :)
