This weekend Jamie and I headed down to California for Memorial Day weekend to surprise Sam! Tatum invited us down for his birthday party...we just couldn't pass it up! So...we got there on Friday and rang their door bell and hid by the side of the house so he couldn't see us. When he opened the door he was so surprised and had no clue we were coming up!
There ended up being about 2o people there for the pool party! It was so much fun! Everyone just lazed in the sun, ate food, and relaxed. Tatum and I made a gumball birthday cake for Sam. Not to brag or anything...but it was only the coolest birthday cake ever! Tatum did such a good job carving out the 3 and 0 too. She's like a professional cake decorator....not really, but she could be! We topped off the cake with sparkler candles! So cool!

Sam made the corn hole game! Jamie played it so much that one side of his face was completely burnt from standing in one spot practically for the entire afternoon! It was pretty funny when he took his sunglasses off...he looked like a raccoon!
Tatum, me and Josie. We loved just laying out and laughing together.One place that I never went as a little girl was Disneyland...and this past weekend I went, for the first time in my life! I felt like a little kid again! Since Sam works for Disney, he was able to get us all in for free! How cool is that?! We went from ride to ride to ride! I loved it! I think my favorites were Splash Mountain, Pirates, Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Star Wars, umm.... pretty much all of them! Oh we also went on the Jungle ride which was a lot of fun and the Mark Twain ship. It was perfect....and I had so much fun! 
My first time ever!!! They gave me a button that said "1st visit" so I wore it all day.

We even stopped to get Jamie a chocolate dipped banana. He used to get them when he went to Disney as a kid. It was so cute seeing his face when he ate it! Later on we ate the yummiest corn dogs in the world (and I don't like hot dogs, so that says a heck of a lot)!

So, over all, everything that I always dreamed of Disneyland being...it was. I totally fell in love with it. I can't believe I missed out on it as a kid! But, I'll be taking my own kids there someday. At 9:30 we stood for the fireworks display and it was like a storybook. It was the best fireworks show I have ever seen! I'll have to admit, I got a bit teary eyed at the end when they played "When you wish upon a star" and had the little star fly across the sky like they do before every Disney movie. It was so sweet and something that I will always remember. Poor Sam and Tatum stayed with Jamie and I at the park until 1:00 am! They were so sweet to take us. They are such great friends to have! I had to get a couple souvenirs at the end just to remember the perfect day! I got a picture frame and a Tinkerbell shirt :)

P.s. funny story to tell... while I was waiting to get my little souvenirs (at 12:30 at night), a lady (probably about 55) was buying a 3 pack of disney themed panties. The lady that was ringing her up said she needed to go grab her a different pack because it only had two pairs in it. The lady said "oh, it's okay...i'm wearing the third pair right now!" We were laughing so hard about it on the way back! Question #1...what did she do with the pair she was originally wearing? Question #2... if they didn't fit when she tried them on, was she just going to roll them back up and stuff them in with the others? Question #3...was she even wearing any underwear in the first place?!!! I'll give her the benefit of the doubt...maybe she just had an accident on one of the rides! ha!

Disneyland is so fun, Disney World is even better. I laughed so hard at the panty story!! Glad you all had a good time.
Yeah, Linsy! You got to go for your first time:) Looks like it was a blast! I hope you guys got those fast passes...What a fun weekend though! Although I do wish you could have been with us at Grandpa's but he didn't really recognize very many people. It was really strange. Anyways though tell Jamie hello! And Love you, Sis!

It's always a blast hanging out with you Lins - especially when you are experiencing things for your first time - I can just imagine you being super giddy! How fun! It was good to talk to you guys the other day - hopefully it works out to see you in September!
