Chineese Dumplings

My friend Emily's mom and dad have been visiting the states from China for about two months, and just left to go back home about a week ago. The Sunday before she left, Emily had a us and some other friends come to her place so her mom could teach us all how to make Chineese dumplings from scratch (America calls them pot stickers). She doesn't speak English, so Emily translated for her. Her mom is so talented! She made about 5 for every 1 that I made! We made so many of them, and they were soooo good! I would put the recipe on here, but it wouldn't be accurate. They didn't give out a recipe because she said her mom never follows a recipe, she just does everything by eye. Pretty much it's just flower and water for the outside, then you roll it into tiny, flat, circles. Then you put ground beef mixed with onion and carrots, and spices inside of it. To cook, just boil until they float to the top. I'll try them out at home, and if they turn out good, then i'll post my own recipe. How does that sound? I found it funny when eating them that Emily and her mom though it was gross all of us Americans were using soy sauce to dip them in! They only use soy sauce for seasoning to put in while cooking, never to put on rice or pot stickers. They used Balsamic vinegar to dip them in... it was actually really good!
