ValleyCrest

Since Jamie started work at ValleyCrest we have enjoyed this time of the year. The company ends each fiscal year by promoting safety within the company as well as promoting work well done with bonuses. Each year around this time Jamie's work always does little perks to promote safety within the company. In the past he has received backpacks, carry-on dufflebags, and coolers at the annual safety BBQ's. One of their modos is "Safety First!" This is such a big deal that every year the company gives aways 4 Red (ValleyCrest's company color; everything is red) Ford F-150 trucks to field laborers with a clean yearly safety record. However, this year is a special one since ValleyCrest is celebrating their 60-Year Aniversary of being in business! Also it is a special year for the Las Vegas Branch where Jamie works as a cost-estimator because they were awarded a Golden Shovel Award for the branch. This is only the 4th Golden Shovel to be awarded in the 60 year history of the company, so that says a lot! The company had to be the best branch in the nation and make so much money in profit to qualify for the award. I also want to say the the Las Vegas branch broke any previous record in the last 60 years for the amount of profit any one branch has made in 1 fiscal year. So, in behalf of all the hard work that has gone on, they took everyone in the Landscape Development office out to Magianno's Italian Restuarant on the Strip and treated the employees (except their wives.... ) to a high class meal. They also gave out this cute little ValleyCrest truck to everyone to remember the special year. It has two little gold shovels in the back. I told him, " someday when we have a house, you can set it up in your little den." They even gave out bonuses this year (though no raises :( because of the economy), it was such a surprise! What a blessing that is to us right now! We just couldn't believe it. We were not excepting one because of how tough things are for all companies in the nation, not to mention Las Vegas. This city is at 12% unemployment right now. It's not hard to find someone that has been effected in one way or the other. The Las Vegas branch for ValleyCrest Landscape Development, is their only branch in the nation that hasn't done any layoffs, which is absolutely amazing! Though, we don't know what 2010 will bring. Good job, Jamie! You are such a hard worker and you deserved this more than anyone! Thank you for being the provider and taking care of us. I love you!

Good job Jamie - it's always nice to get some sort of recognition for making the company money since you know the high ups are getting paid good. Congrats!
