Excuses, Excuses

Our new home!

Ok, I know it's been a long time since I've posted something. So.... get ready for my excuses! We just moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho on December 12th. We are so happy to be closer to family! We used a company called ABF U-Pack (the same company we used when we moved to Vegas). There was a slight problem with the weather and our pods, but after some phone calls, they got everything figured out and ended up delivering them with a tow truck. Thank you Pat and Derik for helping us unload our stuff! Our friend Steve helped us load everything up when we were leaving Vegas, and we want to thank him and his wife Emily for helping us move also. We couldn't have moved without all the help we got! When we got here, we started cleaning our new little home, which took 4 days straight! It's was dirtier than we had expected it to be. Who would have thought the water heater closet would be the nastiest, dirtiest part of the house?! We won't get into details, but just know that it took me 2 1/2 hours to clean that sucker! The stove was another story. I think we scrubbed off a whole pound of butter on the side of the stove once we pulled it out from the wall. Jamie was lucky to find his early Christmas present in the fridge... what's better than finding a random foot long Mexican sausage in the back of the fridge when he pulled out the covering to replace a light bulb?! Oh, the joys of cleaning... meanwhile, we were trying to hurry so we could spend time with family for the holidays. Kash and Cara came up from Mississippi to be with everyone. We don't see them very often, so we wanted to make sure we were able to see them a lot while they were down here. They were so nice to come over and help us move heavy stuff around. Thanks you guys! We are now all moved in, comfortable in our little home, and I even have a job believe it or not! I am a school PSR worker. Right now I am assigned to an autistic 8 year old boy. Things have been going great so far. I'm really lovin' having school hours and getting off at 2:30! I'm just happy to have gotten a job so soon in this horrible economy! Jamie will be starting school this Monday. We took a look at the campus yesterday and got his books. He's a little nervous, but I know he'll do great! Here are some pictures of our "moving days." Enjoy!
My super strong husband!
U-Pack delivering the pods. We have the nicest neighbors... they wanted to get them towed from the parking lot, and they hadn't even been there for 5 hours! We ended up packing and having everything ready to go at 3:30 a.m. so that noone was complaining the next day. U-Pack came and picked them up to head up to Idaho at noon.
Watching U-Pack unload the pods.
Me and my buddy Emily. Emily, Steve, and there little boy Ty Ty helped us pack. We couldn't have done it without them. Thank you so much you guys! You're the best friends anyone could ask for! We miss you so much!
Jamie, Steve, and Tyler. Our stuff is all ready to go!
Our bedroom set up for a week. We were living out of suitcases, and sleeping on an airmattress. Do you like our end tables? :)
Gotta have a little bit of fun when you're packing!
Notice the green trees in the back yard! It was soooo cold when we got to Idaho! I'm having a hard time adjusting to this freezing cold weather!
Stay tuned...I'll be posting pictures soon of Thanksgiving, our last days in Vegas, our new home, Christmas in Idaho, Christmas in Montana, and New Years! Phew! There will be a lot to come. So, be patient as we get them all posted on here!
Love you all! Happy New Year!
