No T.V.?

Since Jamie and I have moved back down to Idaho, we have been dealing with having no T.V. It was so hard at first, and we almost got suckered in to getting cable or satellite, but resisted considering our new budget. Now, 4 months later, we continue to have no T.V. I never realized how much T.V. we really watched until we didn't have it! I used to find myself planning my evenings around different shows. We used to come home and immediately turn on the T.V., just for some background noise. When we were home, the T.V. was on constantly. People think we are crazy, but we are starting to see blessings come from not having T.V. in our home. We have decided to only keep the internet. So, we just download the nightly news on i-tunes so we can stay caught up with what's going on, and occasionally we'll download our favorite shows (like The Office) and watch them for a cheap Friday or Saturday night evening. Jamie is my technology buff. He recently found a device online that allows us to play the internet on our T.V. It's been so nice! We are able to watch the news on our T.V. now! This past weekend my brothers came down and we were all able to watch General Conference off of it! We had a great time together! I made them all German Pancakes for breakfast with fresh strawberries, yum!!! But, since we can't just flip on the T.V. and immediately start watching different shows now, we find other things to do to occupy our time.
1. We talk!

2. We cook dinner together.

3. We read our scriptures at night.

4. Jamie is able to get more studying done.

5. We listen to the radio.

6. I read, clean, workout, play my guitar, or blog :)

7. When we get time to watch something, we don't have to deal with junk coming on the T.V. and are able to pick and choose what we watch more with no commercials!

Really, it's not as bad as someone might think to not have T.V. It gets a second to get used to, but you get so much more done!

Baden and I havent had T.V for a LONG time. In fact the only show we really watch online even is Lost and that will be over soon too. We found that TV is a time sucker and we love having our lives back!

We have tivo so it's really nice to be able to record certain shows and not worry about when we have to watch them! It's made life lots better! Having no tv isn't all that bad!!! Great job on being motivated!

IN our apt. we don't have room for a t.v and we don't have internet. I love it though. It really does let you do so much more together.

Good for you guys! We've been TV-less since we left Vegas, too and haven't really thought twice about it. BTW I love the contrasting outfits of our bros on the couch. Cracks me up:)
