Little Miss Ivy

As most of you probably already know... we welcomed our little girl, Ivy Sullenger, into the world on August 11, 2010 at 6:46 PM.  I ended up being 4 days over due! My water broke in bed while we were sleeping at around 1:40 AM.   Labor started at 1:30 a.m., and she happened to be "sunny side up." (Normal deliveries, the baby is looking down.  Ivy was facing up, which explains her little cone head.)  Labor was a little intense to say the least.  The doctor's believe my body became immune to the epidural.  I had 3 seperate doses, but after the first one was feeling everything more and more. After many hours of pain, joy, excitement, fear, tears, smiles and a little cone head, Ivy arrived. Linsy and Ivy are both recovering well. She weighed 6 pounds 15 ounces and measured 19 inches long.  However, she may really only be 17 inches long now that her cone head has gone down!  Our poor little girl had quite the sore little head!  Poor thing... the best thing is she's an excellent feeder and a happy healthy baby! Enjoy these pictures and I will post more as we get a chance. We could not be happier with our new addition!  We love our Ivy so much!
Our angel.
The proud mama after 18 hours of labor.  Look at those big eyes!  Ivy was alert from the moment she was born!  Her eyes were wide open!
The proud daddy.
Who's toes does she have!?  Ha!
Daddy's already wrapped around her finger!
Ivy's first bath.
"Granny" Neilson (my mom)
Grandma Merritt (Jamie's mom)
Daddy fell asleep rocking Ivy.  He's got the magic touch :)
The most anticipated outfit for 9 months!   We couldn't wait to put it on her!
Getting ready to leave the hospital.  Ivy's final weight in was 6 lb 9 oz.
Ivy in her carseat ready to go home!
The happy family.  We love our baby girl so much and are so happy that she's finally here!

Oh man - she is so tiny and cute! I can't wait to hold her as much as possible! I'm sorry about the epidural not working, I can't even imagine! I'm excited to hear the whole story. It's nice for your mom to be there. I will try and help out as much as possible in a week - meals and whatever - cause you will enjoy the break! Oh and I love her little feet - so funny!
