7 Years... and not itching!

Have you ever heard of the 7-year itch?  It is said that the 7th year of marriage is the hardest of all.  You don't get along, you're sick of each other, and you just have an itch to separate,  Well, Jamie and I's 7th anniversary was yesterday.  I am happy to say that this so-called "7 year itch" does not apply to us.  We are so happy together!    I am so happy to have spent the past 7 years together, just the two of us.  It has made us grow to love each other and know each other, making the hard times seem not so difficult.  Our love has given us a wonderful foundation to begin raising children together now that we know each other so well.  I love my husband, and our little family.  Having Ivy in our lives is such a blessing.  It's strange how much our love has grown even more since she has come into our home.
Right now is one of those hard times where we just have to love each other and get through it.   We are on a very low budget right now, as you might know.  Jamie is still unemployed, but we are getting through with the help of me working part-time right now.  Not quite just "livin' on love," but pretty darn close.  We never go out to eat, ever.  But, last night we decided to take our coupons to Arctic Circle for  $.60 burger and fry.  We were the only people eating there... weird.  We even got some free entertainment from the classy Arctic Circle workers! Ha!  You can't beat free entertainment from Slim Shady, wannabe that is, which he happily answered to from his co-workers.  Jamie and I just looked at each other and laughed.   It was complete randomness.  Slim Shady had the most mixed up manners I've ever seen.  Belching as loud as he could, and shortly after taking our trays and opening our door for us.  Strange man.  But since it was still a special occasion, I brought our camera to remember the evening.   So, right before we ate I asked one of the girl employees to take a picture of us.  Here is our conversation:

Me:  Can you do us a favor?  Today is our anniversary and I was wondering if you could just take a quick picture of us?
Sweet Arctic Circle Lady:  Um.... sure....I guess...
Me:  Thank you so much!
Sweet Arctic Circle Lady:  Arctic Circle for an anniversary huh?  Classy (with sarcasm you could cut with a knife.)
Me:  Well guess what.  When you're poor and you don't have much to spend, you make the best of it.
Sweet Arctic Circle Lady:  (Silence.)  ---open mouth, insert foot.
At least the picture turned out alright! :)

And that was our experience at Arctic Circle.  Good thing we can laugh :)  We had a good time though, and the fries tasted divine!  Afterward we got a Red Box and rented Iron Man 2.  It was probably the cheapest date we've ever been on!  All in all, we spend $6.99 for this date.  Pretty sweet, eh?  Another anniversary to put down in our books of remembrance.  We definitely won't forget this one!

Happy Anniversary honey!  I love you!!!

I love your hat Linsy and Ivy's hat and boots are too adorable! One day you will have money - sometimes (although very stressful) it's fun to be poor! Maybe fun isn't the right word, but blessed to be poor. With that said though, I hope Jamie finds a job soon so you won't have to be so stressed out. Happy Anniversary!

Awww, Lins, I love you, Sis! This post actually almost made me cry. I know what you mean though. I am so glad you and Jamie were able to do SOMETHING! Even if it was going to Arctic Circle. You'll always remember it, anyway, huh? We will keep you in our prayers. Love you guys so so much.

You guys are so cute. That is our kind of date! There's nothing better than an Arctic Circle cheeseburger and fries! The dip cones are awesome, too! Oh gosh, I sound like a dork.
