5.15.2013

I realize how horrible I've been at blogging lately.  I thought my life was busy before getting ready for the little one...  Boy was I wrong!  Life is INSANE right now!  I can hardly find time to eat or sleep, let alone some alone time to blog, write in my journal, and read my scriptures.  I'm really going to have to figure our how to budget my time!  Well, tonight I found a few minutes to at least up date y'all on everything!
As many of you know, I had our little boy on 5.15.2013.   It was an induced labor that was three days late.  I got to the hospital at 5:15 a.m.  Everything went wonderful.  Better than I could have planned out myself.  The epidural worked wonders (much better than Ivy's labor).  I even took a nap when I was dilated at a 7! The only issue we faced, was his heartbeat continued to fall and they couldn't figure out why.  So they put me on oxygen.  When he was born, his cord was wrapped all around him, turning him bright purple.  Miraculously, the cord was not wrapped around his neck.  Jamie had given me a blessing that morning and I truly believe that is what saved his life.  I finally had the baby at 4:24 p.m.  He was a whopping 7 lb 14 oz (I was in shock!), and 21 1/2 in long!  Big boy!  He was unnamed until the next night.  Jamie and I decided on the name Ruehl Jamison Sullenger.  Ruehl is pronounced "Rule" and means "Friend of God."  Very fitting for our little sweet-natured little man.  He has been pretty dang easy so far *cross fingers.*   Jamie fell in love with the name Ruehl when we lived in Vegas.  It was actually a short-lived clothing store owned by Abercrombie and Fitch.  There were only like three in the whole nation.  Anyways, ever since then, he has loved the name.  Then after we researched what it meant, we both fell in love with it more.
Ivy absolutely adores her new baby brother.  She wants to help with EVERYTHING!  I have to keep a very close eye on her because she tends to smother him with her love.  Ha!  Pretty much I have a nervous breakdown every day!  But, I'm so glad she has adapted to him well.  Towards us, on the other hand, has been acting out more.  She has regressed with going to the potty, and has accident after accident.  It is all so stressful!  I do love being a mommy of two, but it definitely has been an adjustment.  My mom stayed with us for two weeks and helped out with so much! I don't know what I would have done without her and Jamie around.  Jamie is now back to work after a two week break.  I haven't gotten ready until 1:00 every day, and usually wearing yoga pants still by the time he gets home, but showered nonetheless!
Last weekend I came down with mastitis.  It is the devil.  I have never felt so aweful!  Jamie took me into the ER on Sunday with me running a 102.6 temperature.  They pumped me with morphine, IV, and antibiotics, and sent me home with a prescription.  I am feeling so much better now.  Here's to a better week!  Enjoy the pics!  I am just in love with out new little addition.  He adds so much joy to our home.  I love my little ones.

He's beautiful! Congrats again on your new addition. And don't worry too much about big sis. She will adjust. We had some issues with Carson after Parker was born too. I think it is normal, especially with strong willed kiddos like ours! :)
