Our litte corner.

Welcome to Jamie and Linsy's little corner of the world. Here you will experience a little piece of what the Sullengers experience- a good portion of their lives including happiness, sadness, hopelessness, excitement, frustration and I'm sure a few more. We hope to keep you up to date on all the news that we have, so sit back, gossip, and enjoy!

Missionary Moments

This has been a wonderful weekend. Friday and Saturday night we looked for new things for our quaint place, which we absolutely cherish! We spent much time in Pier 1 and enjoyed their semi-annual sales! Get in there while you can...almost everything is up to 75% off! Anyways, a little tangent there...but we did find some cute things to spiff the place up a bit. Today, Sunday, was an absolutely beautiful day! My friend from work, whome I've become really close to, has been asking me a little about the church and "Mormons" per se. I finally have developed quite the friendship with her, that I've felt comfortable inviting her to church with Jamie and I a couple months ago, but nothing came of it. Finally, I decided to ask her one more time and she accepted the invitation with open arms. So, they came today. She brought her husband and sister-in-law from Florida as well! We took them to church and sat through Sacrament Meeting and answered several questions through out the services. The Elders were there this Sunday, so they held a Gospel Principles class just for our friends. It was a very humbling and spiritual experience listening to the elders bear their testimonies. Our friends seemed to be interested, but had a few questions about Joseph Smith and Christ in the Americas after the class was over. I think we will have them over again soon, as well as the missionaries so they can ask as many questions as they want without a time frame. They stayed through Relief Society and Elder's Quorum and then afterwards we brought them over to our place and had a wonderful dinner with salmon on a cedar plank grilled up, asparagus, and mashed potatoes! YUM! It was so much fun! The weather was absolutely perfect...it wasn't too hot! So we sat outside and enjoyed the food and company. I made chocolate lava cakes afterwords while we played Scrabble. It was so much fun! We will definately have them over again! It's interesting how when you share the gospel with other people how much your own testimony grows, and how you testify to yourself that the church is true. The Spirit really works in miraculous ways. I really hope they felt the Spirit somewhat today...I know it is a lot to sink in. But, when someone feels the Spirit, the rest seems to just fall into place. I really feel that in some ways we were brought to Vegas for our missionary experiences. I have never come out of my shell as much as I have down here about the church. It's becoming less scary to talk about something so dear to my heart. Which is a wonderful feeling! If anything at all comes from this, I believe we atleast planted some seeds in their hearts. All of us at dinner on the back porch...Cindy, Jason (hiding), Jamie, I, and Rashell.

A little fuzzy...but us playing Scrabble. Rashell is taking the picture.
Jamie and I and our lovely chocolate lave cakes!Jamie showing off his cedar planked salmon. I don't think we soaked it long enough, it totally burnt the bottom! Sure did give a smoked flavor to the salmon! It was delicious! Thank heavens there were no fires involved!

The girls in the kitchen...we had some fun laughs tonight!

Wow, Lins and Jame! That's great! How awesome to be a missionary. I'm sure you had such a great time on Sunday with them. Also, the pic of you and Jamie with the lava cakes in your new kitchen is too cute. I love you and miss you so much, sis!

Hey, Lins! Thanks for commenting about the memories. When it comes to your own family there's seriously a flood! Remember dressing up Binky and I wouldn't let you hold her? or splitting our room into "upstairs, downstairs" and you got the box springs? ha ha! All the farm work we did, playing hide and go seek in the equipment and having a cat attack you from under the harvester, painting our nails, listening to music gossiping about boys and "Hill". So fun to think about what we've been through together! I love you!!!
